Playground Memories by ForgottenBee

Oh how I remember that first kiss,

sneaking out of view behind the school bush

both unsure of what to do.

You were taller,

so me on tip toes to reach you.

Then poor timing and our noses bash,

instant redness flooding our cheeks,

feeling foolish we try again.

Heart thumping chest walls,

nerves soaring,

legs weak.

Friends a gathering crowd

pressure building between us,

they are becoming quite loud

making a noticeable fuss.

“You ok?” two words you whisper

and I’m back in the moment.

You lift my chin with your ink covered fingers,

upward raising my face, my lips,

to yours; plump, wet and soft we kiss.
